We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to support heavy-duty fleet and equipment within a fast-paced industrial and steel operations environment. The successful candidate will ensure all vehicles and machinery are maintained to high safety and operational standards to support continuous operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Conduct routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
Ensure fleet reliability to support transport and operational demands
Maintain accurate service records and job cards
Adhere to health & safety and compliance standards
Attend to breakdowns and provide on-site support when required
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Red Seal
Proven experience working on heavy commercial vehicles or industrial fleet
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience in logistics, transport, steel, or manufacturing environments advantageous
Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
Advantageous
Experience in high-volume operational environments (e.g., steel, bulk transport, warehousing)
