At Are Media, you'll be in the office four days a week, with one day to work from home. 

About the role

Join Are Media's Technology team as a Cloud Operations Engineer in our Sydney office. This permanent full-time position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology solutions that support Australia's leading media brands. You'll collaborate with talented professionals to deliver innovative digital experiences that reach millions of users across our portfolio of websites and applications.

Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain technology solutions that support Are Media's digital platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including editorial, marketing, and product teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal system performance
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems
• Support deployment processes and monitor application performance
• Contribute to testing strategies and quality assurance processes

Skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in software development or relevant technology role
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, or Java
• Experience with database management and SQL
• Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and REST APIs
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Desirable

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of content management systems and digital publishing platforms
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Previous experience in media or publishing industry
• Understanding of SEO principles and web analytics
