Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Robotics and Digital (RAD) Solutions is recruiting for an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer - R&D Robotics located in Cincinnati, OH.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Accessories Design Team supporting a surgical robotics program.

 In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and release of robotic accessories used in advanced surgical systems. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on engineering skills while working in a highly regulated, innovative robotic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of robotic accessories from concept through release.

  • Design, iterate, and evaluate product concepts through prototype builds, laboratory
    testing, and computer simulations.

  • Design and develop test fixtures and test setups to support development, verification, and qualification activities.

  • Implement and support mechanical testing, data collection, and documentation of results.

  • Collaborate with partners such as development, quality, and regulatory throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Assist with design verification, process qualification activities, and investigation of test failures under guidance from senior engineers.

  • Apply sound engineering fundamentals while learning best practices for medical and surgical robotic device development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including mechanics, materials, and basic manufacturing methods.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software

  • Interest in robotics, medical devices, or surgical systems.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
