AHS Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

Abilene High School is seeking an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming 2026–27 season. This is a great opportunity for a motivated coach to contribute to a team with a bright future and help continue building the Abilene Basketball program!

Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

• Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletic & Activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork.
• Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships, helping players grow not only as athletes but also as individuals.
• Assisting in the instruction of basketball fundamentals, skills, and game strategy (X’s & O’s) necessary for program success.
• Supporting the development and implementation of practice plans that are efficient and focused on skill development, basketball IQ, and game preparation.
• Collaborating with the head coach and staff to support all aspects of the 9–12 program and help promote alignment with middle school and youth programs.
• Being a positive, dependable member of the coaching staff while effectively supporting the vision and direction of the head coach.
• Following the policies and guidelines set forth by KSHSAA, USD 435, and AHS.
