Adventure Therapy Clinical Coordinator

 

Full time, Onsite position in Lake Ozark, MO

Pay range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually depending on experience and licensure

The Adventure Therapy Clinical Coordinator is a dynamic, hands‑on leader who drives the clinical excellence and daily operations of Calo’s Adventure Therapy programming. This role blends adventure‑based therapy, developmentally informed and brain‑based practices, and exceptional communication to deliver safe, engaging, and impactful experiences for students while building strong relationships with families, referents, and staff. Responsibilities

  • Design, facilitate, and oversee Adventure Therapy programming, including animal‑assisted and canine training activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
  • Provide clinical leadership through student assessments, development of S.M.A.R.T. goals, in‑the‑moment coaching, group sessions, and crisis intervention as needed
  • Coordinate care by collaborating with therapists, treatment teams, families, and referral partners; attend treatment team meetings, placement calls, transitions, and finalizations
  • Support student and staff development by building strong relationships, offering encouragement, and facilitating 1:1 meetings and campus engagement activities
  • Ensure clinical compliance by completing accurate documentation, participating in Joint Commission preparation and inspections, and adhering to all Calo policies and procedures
  • Manage communication and family engagement through The Family Bridge, including updates, photos, blogs, critical issue reporting, and newsletters
  • Oversee program operations and logistics, including inventory management, supply ordering, facility organization, and Adventure Therapy office coordination 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 24 years of age
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Master’s degree or higher in a clinical or behavioral health–related field
  • Full or provisional clinical licensure, including but not limited to:
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) / Provisional LPC (PLPC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) / Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
    • Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) / Provisional LMFT
    • Licensed Psychologist (or provisionally licensed, where applicable)
  • Documented experience providing therapeutic services, with a strong emphasis on group therapy
  • Experience in adventure therapy, experiential learning, or a related therapeutic field
  • Strong leadership, program development, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Commitment to fostering student growth through experiential, physical challenge‑based, and team‑building interventions
