The Davey Tree Expert Company provides scientifically-based tree care and environmental services across North America. Its work spans residential tree care, commercial grounds management, utility vegetation management and environmental consulting, alongside landscape and grounds services. Field staff include ISA certified arborists and other trained experts, with technical domains covering arboriculture, tree surgery, urban forestry, plant health science and utility vegetation management.
Founded in 1880, the company has been in operation for over 140 years and describes itself as North America's oldest and largest employee-owned tree care company. Employee ownership allows staff to invest in their future, and the firm emphasises professional development and careers built around environmental stewardship.
Research and training are handled in part by The Davey Institute, an internal organisation that advances plant health science and innovation. This research-driven approach informs the company's stated aim of preserving and protecting the urban forest.
