TE Connectivity designs and manufactures connectivity and sensor solutions for the automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, energy and industrial sectors. The company traces its origins to 1941, when it began producing solderless electrical connectors built to withstand demanding aircraft and marine environments. That early focus on reliability under pressure has remained central to its engineering work, and the business has since grown to employ about 93,000 people in approximately 140 countries.

Its product portfolio is organised around two broad lines. The first is solderless electrical connectors, the original product range, developed for harsh operating conditions. The second is a wider set of connectivity and sensor solutions used across multiple industrial sectors.
