Redpanda Data

Redpanda Data builds a C++ streaming data platform, fully compatible with Apache Kafka and now positioned as an Agentic Data Plane for real-time AI infrastructure.

Redpanda Data, founded in 2019, builds a streaming data platform written in C++ and fully compatible with Apache Kafka. Its architecture is thread-per-core and patent-pending, dispensing with ZooKeeper and JVM dependencies. The company reports up to 10x lower latencies and up to 6x lower total infrastructure costs than conventional deployments, and says hundreds of terabytes of data flow through customer systems daily.

The platform is now positioned as an Agentic Data Plane, a category of AI infrastructure intended to let intelligent agents access, reason over and act on enterprise data in real time. Technical work spans real-time streaming, distributed systems, C++ systems programming, low-latency data infrastructure and AI infrastructure.

Named customers include Activision Blizzard, Cisco, Moody's, Texas Instruments, Vodafone and two of the top five American banks, spanning gaming, financial services, semiconductors and telecommunications. The company is backed by Lightspeed, GV and Haystack VC.

Redpanda Data operates as a fully remote team distributed across more than 17 countries. It was founded by a Colombian immigrant engineer, and states a mission of making real-time data accessible to everyone, with a stated focus on reducing infrastructure toil for developers.
