Menatec

Menatec, founded in 1972, makes water-based and specialty adhesives and consumer detergents for manufacturers in the MENA region and beyond.

Menatec is a manufacturer of water-based and specialty adhesives, supplying producers across the MENA region and, increasingly, international markets. The company was established in 1972 as a producer of synthetic detergent powders and has since grown into a substantial adhesive manufacturer, while retaining a consumer detergents business descended from its original trade. More than 50 years of operation separate its founding from its present form.

Its product range spans several chemistries. Dextrin adhesives are made from potato, corn, rice and tapioca starch bases; synthetic polymer adhesives are built on PVA and acrylic systems; hot-melt adhesives use EVA and metallocene technologies; and UV varnishes are formulated for finishing work. Structural adhesives cover demanding bonding applications. The underlying technical domains include adhesive chemistry, water-based and synthetic polymer formulations, hot-melt technology, UV varnish formulation and starch-based chemistry.

These materials are sold into paper conversion, printing, packaging, bookbinding, furniture, cabinetry and structural components, as well as consumer goods. Formulations are tailored to customers' materials, designs, operating conditions and performance requirements, with an emphasis on durable and visually appropriate results. The company states a commitment to research and development, and lists goals of strengthening its regional position and expanding internationally.
