Lancope
Lancope was a network visibility and security intelligence firm whose StealthWatch flow-based monitoring platform helped enterprises detect threats; it was acquired by Cisco in 2015.
Lancope was a network visibility and security intelligence company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. It worked with global enterprises to defend against advanced cyber threats, drawing on technical domains that included flow-based network monitoring, network telemetry analysis, network behavior analytics, anomaly detection and threat detection.
The company's flagship product, the StealthWatch System, collected and analyzed network telemetry from existing infrastructure components such as routers, switches and firewalls. This allowed continuous monitoring of network activity and the identification of potential security breaches without the deployment of additional hardware sensors. Following Cisco's acquisition of Lancope in October 2015 for $452.5 million, the system was integrated into Cisco's portfolio and rebranded as Cisco Secure Network Analytics.
Lancope operated in the enterprise cybersecurity, network security and network monitoring verticals, serving a customer base of global enterprises. The company was recognised as a pioneer in network security analytics and was valued for delivering actionable intelligence from existing network infrastructure.
