Founded in 1928 as a single auto parts store in Atlanta, Georgia, it has grown into a Fortune 500 company and the largest global auto parts distributor, with combined turnover exceeding $15 billion and operations spanning the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australasia.
The group operates through two segments. The Automotive Parts Group distributes roughly 800,000 different parts through nearly 6,000 NAPA Auto Parts stores in the U.S. alone. The Industrial Parts Group supplies more than 18 million replacement parts to over 190,000 MRO and OEM customers across diverse industries. Between them, the businesses serve hundreds of thousands of retail, commercial and industrial customers.
The company has raised its dividend for 70 consecutive years. In 2026 it announced plans to separate into two independent publicly traded companies, a move intended to sharpen strategic focus and unlock shareholder value.
