Empirical LLC, founded in 2016 in San Diego, is a product development partner offering AI-enabled product and technology leadership, end-to-end software development, and nearshore engineering teams from Latin America.
Empirical LLC is a product development partner founded in 2016 by Sebastian Pereyro, a former Lead Software Engineer at Disney, who set up the firm in San Diego while living there with his family. He co-founded it with Niv Carmi to address a specific problem: entrepreneurs who struggle to find and retain talented engineers. The company works with early- and growth-stage technology firms across the technology, software and startup sectors, and reports more than 15 years of experience in software product development.
Its services fall into three areas: AI-enabled product and technology leadership, which combines AI capabilities with product and technical direction for client companies; end-to-end product development, covering the full software product cycle; and nearshore team augmentation, which sources engineers primarily from across Latin America. The firm's geographic presence spans San Diego and Latin America.
Empirical describes itself as operating on a people-first philosophy, holding that great products are built in good working environments. The stated emphasis is on quality and collaboration, with equal attention to the people doing the work and the products being built.
