Cribl, founded in 2018, provides a vendor-agnostic data processing engine and product suite for IT and security teams, spanning telemetry pipelines, edge agents, search and data lakes.
Cribl is a data processing company for IT and security teams, founded in 2018 and headquartered in San Francisco, with a remote-first workforce of more than 600 employees. It sells a vendor-agnostic data engine and a suite of products designed to help enterprises collect, route, store and analyse telemetry data without being locked into a single vendor. The company surpassed $200m in annual recurring revenue and is among the fastest infrastructure businesses to reach that mark.
The product suite comprises four main tools. Cribl Stream is a telemetry pipeline; Cribl Edge is a vendor-neutral agent; Cribl Search provides search-in-place analytics; and Cribl Lake is a turnkey data lake. The technical domains span data processing, observability, IT operations, security analytics, log aggregation and edge agents, placing the firm at the intersection of enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity and data management.
Working practices are remote-first, with staff distributed beyond the San Francisco base. The company describes its culture as irreverent but serious, and sets out five core values: Customers First, Always; Irreverent but Serious; Insatiably Curious; Open and Authentic; and Excel Together. Employees are nicknamed "goats", with Ian the Goat as mascot. Eight employee resource groups claim participation above 45%, and a Goats Give Back programme runs community service; through a partnership with World Vision, a goat is donated to a family in need for every new customer.
