Checkmk GmbH

Checkmk GmbH develops the Checkmk IT Monitoring Platform, an IT infrastructure monitoring solution for cloud, hybrid and data center environments, containers and networks. The platform automatically collects health statuses and metrics from servers, networks, clouds, containers and applications, and integrates with open observability ecosystems. It is backed by more than 2,000 vendor-maintained plug-ins.

The product is distributed in several editions: the free open source Raw Edition, which serves organisations from mid-sized infrastructures to global enterprises; the commercial Enterprise Edition, offering enterprise-grade scalability and automations; the Cloud Edition, for cloud infrastructure monitoring; and the MSP Edition, designed for managed service providers. Open source is at the foundation of the company's approach, combined with commercial editions that add scalability and automation.

Checkmk is used by tens of thousands of users in more than 50 countries. Named enterprise customers include Adobe, Cisco, Siemens, Volkswagen, ING, HP, Fujitsu, Zalando and Fitbit. The team has grown by more than 500% over the past five years. Technical work spans cloud, hybrid, data center, container and network monitoring, metrics and health status collection, automation and enterprise scalability. The stated engineering focus is on high availability, preventing outages and minimising Time-To-Resolution.
