CareOregon, Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based health care organisation and managed care plan founded in 1994 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Its stated mission is to inspire and partner with others to create quality and equity in individual and community health, with a focus on ensuring access to care regardless of income or background. The organisation serves more than 500,000 low-income Oregonians and is the largest health plan serving Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members in the state, having operated for over 30 years.
The organisation's work spans Medicaid managed care, Medicare managed care and the integration of medical, dental and behavioural health benefits, alongside care coordination. These are delivered through a family of entities: Columbia Pacific CCO and Jackson Care Connect, two coordinated care organisations; CareOregon Advantage, a Medicare Advantage plan offering integrated health benefits; CareOregon Dental; and Housecall Providers, which delivers in-home medical care.
CareOregon operates exclusively in Oregon and invests millions of dollars in local communities each year, including in social determinants of health such as housing, food security and transportation. It works as a collaborative partner with the Oregon Health Authority and Health Share of Oregon, and describes its vision as healthy communities for all people.
