Arine is a healthcare technology company that operates an AI-powered medication intelligence platform. The system applies data science, machine-learning models and clinical expertise to data on clinical, behavioural and social determinants of health, with the aim of identifying patients at risk of medication-related problems before adverse events occur. The company works with health plans and other payers in the United States, and positions itself within population health and value-based care.

The platform produces more than 40m recommendations a year. Arine reports that it serves upwards of 45 health plans covering more than 30m members, and that clients have seen hospitalisations fall by up to 40% and total cost of care by 10-15%, alongside quality ratings of four to five stars. The scale of the problem it addresses is considerable: medication mismanagement is estimated to cost America more than $528bn a year and to contribute to 275,000 deaths.

Technical work spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, clinical decision support and analysis of social determinants of health, applied to medication management. The company describes its approach as combining technology with deep clinical expertise, with an emphasis on safety, effectiveness and personalised treatment for individual patients.
