AGFA NV, the Agfa-Gevaert Group, is an imaging technology company that develops, manufactures and markets analog and digital systems for the healthcare sector, the printing industry, the green hydrogen industry and a range of industrial applications. Founded in 1867, the group draws on nearly 160 years of experience in imaging and is headquartered in Mortsel, Belgium.
The company is organised into five business units: HealthCare IT, Digital Printing Solutions, Film & Chemicals, Green Hydrogen Solutions and Digital Radiology Solutions. Products include the Enterprise Imaging Platform, a health-care IT system for working with patient images; high-productivity inkjet solutions for the sign & display and packaging markets; ZIRFON electrolysis membranes for green hydrogen production; MUSICA image processing software used in digital radiology; and analog film and chemical products for printing and industrial use.
Technical work spans imaging technology, enterprise imaging and health-care IT, digital printing and inkjet, film and chemicals, electrolysis membranes, digital radiology and image processing software. Agfa operates production and research centres in seven countries - Belgium, the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria, China and Brazil - and maintains wholly owned sales organisations in more than 40 countries.
