OVERALL PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for supervising, assisting and counseling clients for the purpose of developing individualized exercise prescriptions or training programs based on the clients overall performance goals. This position is also responsible for orientation of exercise equipment, proper implementation of exercise prescription and counseling on risk and injury modification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: (other duties may be assigned)
Supervising and assisting safe and effective exercise programs for all Richland Sports performance clients.
Orientation of Richland Sports performance clients to all cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
Set training schedule for client.
Conduct Richland Sports Performance or Windber Sports Complex tours to potential Clients as well as program information.
Assist in Richland Sports Performance or Windber Sport Complex promotions or special events
Perform office related duties
Meditech Scheduling
Assist with general Richland PT scheduling office duties in downtime.
Conduct Weight Training Sessions in the high school weight room or designated area
OTHER DUTIES OF JOB:
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision is received by the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
SUPERVISION ADMINISTERED:
Supervision is administered to all athletes, clients or physical therapy patients as they relate to operations.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:
This position typically requires:
The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks, provide close attention to detail, work a predictable work schedule, and work closely with others. The ability to constantly stand, use both hands, communicate orally, hear conversation, use specific visual requirements and depth perception is also typically required. The ability to frequently walk is also typically required. The ability to occasionally sit, lift between ten and 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, repeatedly bend, use repetitive finger movement and the use of rapid mental/muscular coordination simultaneously. This position would be classified as a medium work level according to OSHA guidelines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position typically requires:
Constant contact with patients and frequent work with machinery and moving parts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training/License/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in an exercise science or strength and conditioning related field.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification and AED Training preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date.
Work Experience:
One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.
