Job Description

As a Senior Engineer within our Technology Delivery team, you will play a key role in driving our transformation toward Continuous Delivery and elevating the customer experience across our digital platforms. You will contribute to the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our Claims Life Insurance applications, as well as other critical tools and systems that support the business.

Success in this position requires the ability to quickly build deep technical knowledge of our application ecosystem while also developing a strong understanding of the life insurance domain. You will be expected to work autonomously, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and align your work with agile delivery frameworks.

In this role you will:

  • Translate complex business requirements into high‑quality, scalable technical solutions
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, champion engineering best practices
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Assist the Product Owners and Delivery Managers as required in ensuring all work is delivered in an appropriate and effective manner
  • Guide colleagues and other developers to ensure delivery aligns to specified functional and non-functional requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of development of full-stack applications
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering in Agile teams with an understanding of agile delivery philosophy
  • Demonstrable experience of working with Cloud platforms, particularly Azure ( Azure DevOps pipelines, Azure App Services, Functions, Understanding of Azure Service Bus integration) 
  • Demonstrable experience in distributed software development
  • Demonstrable experience in API development
  • Experience with web UI frameworks i.e. React & Angular
  • Strong C#.NET and ASP.NET Programming skills
  • Experience of working with CI/CD toolsets (Teamcity/Octopus/Azure DevOps)
  • Solid Experience working with .NET languages , Web APIs and middleware technologies
  • Hand-on skills in SQL programming language for Microsoft SQL Server
  • Test Driven Development Skills
  • Desirable experience with GraphQL, SSIS and sitecore
