You will design and deliver embedded electronic systems and firmware that form a critical part of complex scientific instrumentation. Working across hardware, embedded software, embedded Linux, and FPGA-interfaced subsystems, you will support projects throughout the full product lifecycle—from early concept and architecture through to verification and release.
Your work will directly contribute to product innovation, performance, and reliability, supporting customers across academic, industrial, and government markets worldwide.
What you’ll be doing:
Design, develop, and verify embedded electronic systems for scientific instruments
Produce mixed-signal electronic designs including sensor interfaces, data acquisition, power management, and precision control
Develop and review embedded firmware in C/C++ across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments
Build and maintain embedded Linux platforms, including kernel configuration, device trees, bootloaders, and Yocto-based build systems
Collaborate with FPGA engineers on processor-to-FPGA interfacing and system integration
Support prototype bring-up, system debugging, and EMC/safety compliance activities
Work closely with software, mechanical, optical, and scientific colleagues to deliver integrated solutions
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other engineers within the team
About you:
Significant experience in embedded electronics and firmware development within complex products
Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
Experience designing mixed-signal electronics and supporting PCB development
Exposure to embedded Linux environments and FPGA-interfaced systems
A structured, quality-focused approach to engineering and problem solving
The ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
