About the Opportunity

RAM Engineer is an IPS practitioner conducting Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analysis and artefact development for a maritime Mission System and Support System.

This position uses model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools across the Design Interface and sustainment informing the System Safety Program, Maintenance Planning and Management and Supply Support IPS Elements.

Providing RAM technical expertise into IPS activities and fosters collaboration with design engineers and other IPS practitioners. Ensuring RAM analysis informs engineering decisions and supports the integration of IPS Elements to achieve Mission System and Support System supportability by design.

This position reports and collaborates closely with the RAM Engineering Lead or Senior RAM Engineer.

You’ll Need

  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in RAM, Maintenance Engineering, life cycle cost modelling or supporting analysis within Defence or complex asset environments.
  • Leadership in RAM collaboration and planning.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management or Defence Logistics
  • Experience in naval shipbuilding or maritime sustainment programs
  • Knowledge of RAM tools and standards (e.g. MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-721, Weibull analysis) 
  • Leadership in RAMP strategy development, modelling and integration with IPS elements.
