An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Delivery Technician to join our Delivery Team within IT at Hampshire County Council.

Are you looking for a challenging and diverse role working as part of a friendly, high performing and supportive team, with an opportunity to make a real difference?

The Role:

Hampshire County Council is one of the UK’s top performing local authorities and is now embarking on an ambitious, transformative period of change - and you can be part of shaping its future. We are proud to deliver high-quality public services to over a million residents, with our IT teams playing a vital role in that success.

As part of our forward-thinking and nationally respected IT function, we are looking for a Project Delivery Technician to join our dynamic Infrastructure Delivery Team. We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and reliable individual to support project delivery within our IT Infrastructure Team. You’ll play a key role in coordinating resources, supporting the management team, and helping ensure the team runs smoothly. This role is ideal for a skilled administrator seeking a new challenge or someone with the right abilities who is looking to begin or grow their career in IT. You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive, and hard working team where your contribution will be valued.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain strong effective working relationships with project managers and team leaders.
  • Understand, coordinate, and process requests for people’s time, helping to balance skills, workload, and priorities.
  • Support the management team by being solution focused, identifying issues, and making recommendations where needed.
  • Produce regular reporting on resourcing, capacity and utilisation to support management oversight and planning.
  • Work with accuracy and attention to detail, managing your own workload effectively and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Use Microsoft 365 tools daily, with opportunities to work with Microsoft Project, PowerBI and SharePoint.
  • Help ensure information is easily accessible and well organised for the wider team.
  • Assist with meeting coordination, including preparing materials, arranging venues, and taking minutes when required.
  • Contribute to maintaining team process documents and supporting continuous improvement activities.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proactive and organised individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Someone who is reliable, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365, with an ability to follow technical conversations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI and SharePoint is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Positive, solution focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Someone keen to support project delivery and be part of a motivated, friendly, and hard working IT team.

Why join us?

Our benefits package includes details of the holiday entitlement, pension scheme, flexi-time scheme, family friendly policies and interest free travel loans and discounts. We offer a flexible, motivating and inclusive workplace. We have created an environment that you can look forward to being a part of, where you are empowered to be your best and a workplace built on teamwork where people can grow and develop in their roles.

Hampshire County Council offers a pleasant, supportive, and collaborative working environment.
