About the role  

The successful applicants will be focused on the design and implementation of routing, switching and firewalls, as well as contributing to larger project designs and deployments. The position is primarily centred around Network Engineering project deployment and consulting tasks involving the upgrade, remediation, review and analysis of IT and OT environments and infrastructure within their area(s) of expertise. Work can be conducted onsite at client locations or remote from the Denver Technology offices with some travel is required once or twice a month to remote sites in WA.

 

About the IT/OT Team  

Our IT/OT engineering team is a highly experienced group of network and systems engineers. The team’s technical capability is actively managed and grown through a combination of work assignments, training programs and support from other members of the team.  Non-Senior Engineers in the program will work with Senior IT/OT engineers on larger programs of works and work independently on smaller project deployment.

You will have:   

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Network Engineer/Firewall Engineer
  • Information Technology (IT) Qualification such as TAFE Certificate IV/Diploma or Bachelor of Computer Science/Information Technology Degree or equivalent education/experience;  
  • Active Professional or equivalent-level technical Networking/Firewall certification(s) E.g., CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSE, FCP/NSE5-6, CCSE etc or equivalent.  
  • Certification or equivalent knowledge/experience in the configuration/deployment/support of a commercial grade firewall platform: preferably one of the following: CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet and/or Juniper SRX;   
  • Proven capability with industrial Wi‑Fi technologies across mining, energy or manufacturing sites.
  • General knowledge of the principles of secure IT/OT environment, network, and systems design. 
  • Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems;  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail;   
  • Experience working in a billable environment with timesheeting responsibilities;  
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multi-disciplinary team environments including hybrid teams involving Client and Denver resources; and   
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident.   

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:   

  • Experience in the review and analysis of existing IT/OT environments, systems and infrastructure on area of expertise. 
  • Experience in reading and interpreting infrastructure and engineering diagrams and extrapolating system requirements and technical queries.  
  • Mining/Resources and Oil and Gas Industry experience preferably onsite high advantageous.
