What the role is all about:

WinSport Summer Camps is seeking dynamic and passionate individuals for the position of Mountain Bike Coach. If you have a genuine interest in developing riders, coaching people of all ages and extensive mountain biking knowledge, we invite you to apply.

Candidates for this position should have experience working with children/youth in a mountain biking environment, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a guest success mindset.

As Mountain Bike Coach, your primary role is to conduct riding assessments, provide coaching feedback, and design/execute team member training that aligns to that of our progression delivery. You will ensure campers, parents, Volunteers and WinSport Team Members have exceptional experiences. 

This position requires strong leadership, coaching skills, and vast mountain biking knowledge to effectively manage mountain bike programming and ensure riders are developing along the progression pathway. You will work collaboratively with Sport leadership to design fun, unique, and engaging programming that elevates the sport and ignites a passion in those participating.

What you will be doing: 

Program Execution and Progression Delivery

  • Actively engage in programs and offer feedback helping build an effective coaching system.
  • Conduct riding assessments for all team members to ensure safe riding practices and understanding of the ‘Mountain Bike Responsibility Code’.
  • Contribute to daily team members meetings by providing technical feedback for adoption into program execution.
  • Design, develop, and execute technical training sessions for team members.
  • You will ensure campers, parents, Volunteers and WinSport Team Members have exceptional experiences.

 

Bike Park Ambassador

  • Collaborate with trail crew team members to provide feedback on trial design and actively participate in the testing of new features.
  • Liaise with Sport Leadership to advise on program design, provide ongoing updates regarding team member performance, and conduct program instructor assignments.   
  • Model safe riding practices always adhering to the ‘Mountain Bike Responsibility Code’ and WinSport policies and procedures.

    Communication

    • Communicate in ways that empower participants and team members when providing feedback.
    • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians.
    • Vary communications styles to best fit the audience.
    • Other duties as required

     

    What you bring:                                                

    • Must be available for mandatory staff training from June 22 to 26, 2026.
    • Must be available for mandatory coach training from June 2 to 4, 2026.
    • Must be available Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, from June 29 to August 28, 2026, for at least 8 of the 9 weeks of summer camps.
    • Must be available specifically for Weeks 2 and 3 of summer camps, July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17, 2026.
    • Experience coaching or instructing is required.
    • Experience working within the Mountain Bike sporting industry is required.
    • Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
    • Current Standard (Intermediate) First Aid and CPR level C certification 
    • Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association Level 1 coaching qualification or equivalent is required.
    • Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association Level 2 coaching qualification or higher is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience working with teams of various sizes and demographics is considered an asset.

     

        Work Conditions:

        • 40-44 Hours per week
        • Ability to run, walk, ride, and jump for long periods of time.
        • Ability to work outside for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
        • Evenings and weekends may be required based on operational needs.
        • Full-time, in-person availability is required.
        • Maintain a high level of positive energy throughout the day.
        • The job is frequently expected to lift, carry, throw, push, or pull objects (sporting equipment).
