Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all pool users through enforcement of all pool safety rules and procedures and provide general first-aid assistance as needed. The Lifeguard also has secondary responsibilities such as public relations, completing paperwork and maintaining a clean facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Educate the public to be safety conscious.
Prevent swimmers and patrons from becoming endangered.
Create and maintain a clean and safe physical environment.
Enforce all ordinances, rules, regulations and guidelines.
Provide assistance to endangered swimmers.
Treat victims requiring first aid.
Obtain further medical assistance and advise victims on follow-up treatment.
Complete accident and incident reports
Portray a positive and professional attitude to the public
Care of all equipment
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Current certifications in Lifeguard Training, CPR and First Aid (Ellis and Associates or American Red Cross) or be willing to obtain.
Ability to pass all required Red Cross lifeguarding and waterfront lifeguarding skills as well as first aid and CPR skills during preseason testing.
