The Industrial Electrician will service and troubleshoot electrical equipment and related components associated with heavy industrial and plant facilities. He/She will also support our in-house custom control panel fabrication workshop. Responsibilities & Duties
Assist in planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, circuits, transformers, light fixtures, switches, gears, wiring, motors, etc. and connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components as specified.
Install electrical segments in equipment such as wiring, switchgears, circuitry lighting, installing motors and drives.
Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair electrical equipment, logic boards, transducers, amplifiers, complex timing, inspection devices, motors and VFDs.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Identify inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinate to resolve.
Program logic controls (PLC) for proper equipment operation.
Utilize electrical ladder diagrams, electronic circuitry diagrams, and software programs to modify, repair, or improve equipment functionality
Experience and Education Requirements
HS diploma AND training acquired through Associate’s degree, Apprenticeship or Certification Program in a related field such as Industrial Electrician, Manufacturing Technology, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, etc.
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in industrial or plant facilities
Ability to communicate effectively, write, read, comprehend, follow complicated verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, schematics and electrical diagrams.
Experienced with programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI and industrial electrical networking.
Working knowledge of electrical-mechanical devices, AC/DC motors, wiring diagrams and schematics, Allen Bradley and similar PLC's, and digital devices.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
Thorough understanding of the operating principles of electrical equipment, testers, hand tools and the ability to use logic to troubleshoot.
