Compensation Details:
- MINIMUM HOURLY WAGE - $26.29
- GRADE – 12T
A liaison between lifeguards and Pool Facility Supervisor. Position is a supervisory role to take charge of the lifeguard team and be assertive in ensuring lifeguards fulfill their primary duties. Position performs on-going in-service training and certifications of lifeguards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Without Accommodations):
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English in order to communicate with co-workers, City officials and the general public.
- Able to work a forty (40) hour workweek as assigned and overtime as necessary.
- Able to use equipment and/or materials as specified in this job description.
- Able to see and hear well enough to perform the duties specified in this job description.
- Must maintain required certifications.
- Must be able to handle pool chemicals for pool maintenance.
- Must be able to administer first aid and handle infectious waste.
- Mandatory to render aid.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
- Lifesaving devices, i.e., lifesaving rings, hooks, resuscitation masks. Maintenance equipment i.e., vacuum and brush for cleaning the pool, manikins, oxygen equipment and defibrillator.
ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily outdoors, with some shelter from the sun.

DUTIES/TASKS/JOBS:
- Schedule, assign and supervise lifeguards.
- Supervise staff in absence of immediate supervisor.
- Provide lifeguard instruction, training and certification.
- Maintain written documentation of incidents and training.
- Assist supervisor with staff meetings.
- Instruct community water safety courses.
- Perform as a working lifeguard.
- Provide for the safety of the patrons using the facility.
- Enforce rules and regulations in a standardized manner.
- Be physically and mentally alert at all times to prevent accidents.
- Identify and correct hazards.
- Test water chemistry and record reading according to state requirements.
- Do pool maintenance as scheduled and as required.
- Know how to carry out the emergency plan for the facility.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to handle problem situations.
- Current certifications as American Red Cross Lifeguard or equivalent.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Current lifeguard instructor certification or ability to achieve within twelve-month period.
