Frontend Engineer

What’s the Role:

Join our Cash & Transactional banking Technology team as a Frontend Engineer. The Cash & Transactional banking team works with the business team in transforming the business vision into reality by planning and delivering the projects along with our strategic partners. Work in a fast paced and agile environment, contributing to major transformation programs and supporting the Cash & Transactional Technology Team.

What do I need?

• Hands-on experience building and scaling complex front-end applications using React and Node.js 
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), with solid understanding of component architecture 
• Design and develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces that work consistently across browsers and devices 
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, reusable React components 
• Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and modern styling approaches (CSS Modules, PostCSS, CSS-in-JS) 
• Optimise front-end performance, scalability, and maintainability (minimising re-renders, improving load times) 
• Manage application state using Redux, Context API, or similar libraries 
• Integrate and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL for dynamic data-driven applications 
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases, including refactoring legacy code and resolving UI issues 
• Ensure high code quality through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress) 
• Apply best practices in accessibility, responsive design, and web standards 
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams 
• Stay up to date with modern front-end trends and the React ecosystem, recommending continuous improvements 
• Interest in using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality 
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
