Event Only Lifeguard

Job Title: Certified Lifeguard (Seasonal – Event-Based)

Location: Troutbeck Amenia, NY Employment Type: Seasonal / Part-Time (Event-Based, Summer)

Job Summary: Troutbeck is seeking a certified Lifeguard to provide safety coverage during scheduled poolside and aquatic events throughout the summer season. This role is strictly event-based and requires a high level of alertness, professionalism, and guest interaction to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide active lifeguard supervision during scheduled hotel events involving pool use

· Monitor guests in and around the pool area to ensure safety at all times

· Enforce pool rules and event-specific safety guidelines

· Respond immediately to emergencies, providing first aid, CPR, or AED assistance as needed

· Coordinate with event staff and management to support safe event operations

· Conduct pre-event and post-event safety inspections of the pool and surrounding areas

· Remain attentive in high-traffic, fast-paced event environments

· Deliver professional and courteous guest service throughout all events

Qualifications:

· Current Lifeguard Certification (required)

· CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (required)

· Previous experience lifeguarding at events or high-volume settings preferred

· Strong situational awareness and quick decision-making skills

· Excellent communication and customer service abilities

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule

Physical Requirements:

· Strong swimming ability and ability to perform water rescues

· Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods

· Ability to respond quickly in emergencies

Work Environment:

· Primarily outdoor pool and event spaces

· Exposure to summer weather conditions

· Fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere during events

Compensation:

· $25.00 / hr.
