The Technology Systems Team is a specialist team within WSP that focuses on providing technology and integration consultancy services. The specialist services covered include Audio Visual (AV), Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Automation and Control Systems, ICT Master Planning & Strategy and Security Consultancy & Engineering. 

The Australia & New Zealand Technology Systems Team consists of 50+ engineers within the WSP Specialists Group in Australia and Manila led by the Director of Technology Systems, with the larger Specialist Group under the leadership of the Director of Specialist Disciplines at the Property & Buildings Board level. 

With the addition of the Rail Comms Team, Calibre and the ITS Team, WSP is able to provide over 150+ Specialist Technology, Telecommunications and Security Engineers and Consultants in Australia and New Zealand who are focused on the development and deployment of technology-based solutions. Internationally this figure is closer to 1200, making WSP one of the largest and most integrated Technology Consulting businesses internationally. 

The Specialist Division of WSP includes other value add disciplines including Acoustics, Fire Engineering, Sustainability, Facades, Waste, Program Delivery, Vision Design (Specialist Lighting) to name a few. Specialists consists of a team of approximately 250 plus engineers and professionals located across most of the WSP offices in the Australia & New Zealand region. 

The Role

The Senior BIM Coordinator – Technology Systems is responsible for undertaking complex modelling tasks to meet client requirements and manage project BIM deliverables.

Key responsibilities

  • Support and manage the delivery of project and design work in the form of the preparation of drawings and models on complex projects, incorporating cross-discipline liaison and high level technical skills.
  • Provide expertise in Building Information Modelling methodologies within WSP Technology Systems disciplines, project models and understanding of multidisciplinary BIM process.
  • Work with client Digital Teams to establish BIM Management plans and protocols.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Promote and enhance digital technologies and design automation.
  • Lead design coordination process development and implantation on projects.
  • Promote the implementation of advanced project technology tools required for digital project delivery.
  • Be active in representing the company through target industry organisations.
  • Lead in the development of strategic plans for the office; including market and people development. Contribute to and support the execution of the business group strategic plan.

About You 

  • 5-10 years’ experience within BIM.
  • Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence security clearance is essential – only eligible to Australian Citizens (Permanent Resident, NZ Citizens & Visa holders are not eligible).    

  • Highly skilled in modelling & detailing complex designs.  

  • Highly competent using role specific software and understanding results and use for producing project documentation. 

  • High appreciation and understanding of the application of 3D modelling capabilities. 

  • Advanced design software coordination & awareness. Advanced BIM software knowledge. Proven ability in BIM Management. 

  • Advanced knowledge of BIM and design led BIM within Property disciplines, project models and appreciation of multidisciplinary BIM process. Demonstrated experience in Advanced 3D or equivalent. 

  • Highly skilled in complex designs and Coordination management. 

  • Wide exposure to industry best practice in BIM, Revit, Project Design & Documentation.  

  • Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships.  Demonstrated competence in delivering best clients outcomes /options. 

  • Advanced knowledge in all manners of Construction Methodology & Project Delivery methods. 

     

  • Experience in reviewing BIM Scope and BIM Execution Plans. 

     

  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems, procedures and practices.     

  • Demonstrated knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.
