This apprenticeship is designed for individuals who want to grow into a Lead Maintenance Technician role by gaining strong technical expertise along with leadership and coordination experience.

As a Lead Maintenance Technician Apprentice at our Whitehouse, OH R&D facility, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the reliability and performance of research equipment, building systems, and site infrastructure. In addition to building technical capability, you will develop the skills needed to lead maintenance activities, coordinate work, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

You will have the opportunity to...

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of research, laboratory, and facility equipment
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments to perform maintenance tasks
• Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Support facility maintenance activities including plumbing, lighting, filter changes, and minor electrical work
• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability
• Assist in updating maintenance procedures and implementing equipment modifications
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for troubleshooting and repair support
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
• Support building systems and infrastructure within a research environment
• Assist in planning and prioritizing maintenance work to support site needs
• Develop leadership skills by coordinating tasks, supporting team execution, and driving accountability
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies while promoting a safe workplace

If you...

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Are able to work in a maintenance environment and lift up to 50 lbs
• Are comfortable working in a professional R&D setting
• Can work at various heights, climb stairs, and access equipment across the site
• Are able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
