About the role:

This is a full-time ongoing position (teaching focused academic) at TFAB Classification, $113,221- $134,449 +17% superannuation working 36.75 (1 FTE) hours per week.

The overall purpose of the Teaching Focused Academic (Paramedicine) position is to contribute to the teaching effort within the Paramedicine discipline and to the broader college through relevant academic and administrative activities.

A teaching focused academic at this level will be required to teach units, and development of teaching and learning activities including online and preparatory material and may be asked to convene units of study. The successful incumbent will be required to teach into the Bachelor of Paramedicine.

The successful incumbent will be someone with energy who is innovative, progressive and collaborative in the way they work. They will be an excellent communicator who collaborates well with others across the College of Sport, Health, and Engineering, and the broader University.

Duties:

An example of duties you may perform includes:

  • Participate in administrative duties such as unit convening, unit development, attending discipline and College meetings and/or membership of university committees.
  • Design innovative curricula and develop learning materials in collaboration with other colleagues as appropriate.
  • Develop and facilitate learning activities face-to-face or in a blended capacity as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning and which reflect a command of the discipline and authentic Paramedicine practices.
  • Determine the learning needs of students and provide appropriate teaching and learning environments and support to help students achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • Assess learning and provide timely feedback that students can use to inform future assessment tasks.
  • Engage in continuing professional learning and qualifications, if appropriate, in both discipline theory and practice and the teaching of the discipline.
