Under the Supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director (AD) of Sports Performance and the Director of Football Performance, the Strength and Conditioning Assistant will serve as a member of the Towson University Athletic Department’s multidisciplinary Performance Team and will work directly with student-athletes, athletic trainers, dietitian, coaches, and other exercise science and allied health personnel to deliver comprehensive, practical, and evidence-based performance strategies for Towson University student-athletes. The position is aimed to provide professional experience for individuals who are looking for additional experience following graduation from a bachelor's degree program as they transition into full time employment, working independently as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach.
The incumbent will work in a team environment and assist with the daily operations of the strength and conditioning program for varsity student-athletes; provide proper supervision, instruction in exercise to reduce the risk of injury, and ensure safe equipment usage; assist with movement screenings; assist with the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for a variety of men's and women's athletic teams and individual athletes as assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Performance which includes\: communication, coordination, and collaboration with athletic trainers regarding biomechanical assessments as well as implementation of exercise modification, recovery techniques, and return to participation protocols for athletes returning from injury; supervision and teaching progression, resistance training, cardiovascular, speed, plyometric, flexibility and functional movement, record keeping and monitoring progress; design off-season and summer workout programs utilizing electronic means.

$18.22 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days.
