Job Description:

The registered physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing patients referred to the emergency department. The role involves collaboration with the Discharge Planning team and GEM nurse to help prevent admissions in the ED. Includes planning and implementing treatment or education programs to enhance function or prevent disability, as well as documenting and communicating findings to the team.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must be a graduate of an accredited School of Physiotherapy.

• Registration with the College of Physiotherapy and membership with the C.P.A. is required.

• Preference will be given to candidates with previous clinical experience in a hospital setting, preferably the emergency department.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated effectiveness working independently as well as liaising with community resources and the interdisciplinary team.

• Satisfactory performance and attendance required.

• Be able to work a set 2 week master schedule as well as be flexible to cover sick calls and vacation.
