About the role
We are seeking an experienced Grade 3 Physiotherapist to co-lead our Orthopaedic stream (Wednesday–Saturday) in partnership with the existing stream leader (Monday–Tuesday).
Work hours:
Wednesday–Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am–12:00pm
This role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership across orthopaedic, neurosurgical and emergency department services.
You will deliver evidence-based care across elective and traumatic orthopaedics, paediatric orthopaedics, spinal neurosurgery, fast-track surgical pathways, preadmission clinic, and ED presentations.
Based primarily at Malvern, you will also provide leadership support at Brighton and supervise Grade 1 and 2 physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver advanced, evidence-based physiotherapy care across acute orthopaedics, neurosurgery and ED
Lead initiatives that support efficient discharge planning and improved bed flow
Engage and collaborate with orthopaedic and neurosurgical surgeons
Develop, review and implement clinical protocols
Provide supervision, mentoring and on-site support to junior physiotherapists, AHAs and students
About You
We are seeking a motivated senior physiotherapist with substantial experience in acute orthopaedics who is committed to excellence in patient-centred care.
You will demonstrate:
A recognised Physiotherapy qualification
Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist
Advanced clinical experience in orthopaedics, neurosurgery and emergency settings
Strong leadership, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
Flexibility to work across Cabrini sites and weekend services as required
