Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced emergency medical care and transport to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings.

Every day you will rapidly assess scenes, evaluate conditions, and administer life-saving interventions, while safely operating emergency vehicles and documenting care.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking under stress, and compassionate communication, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

  • Perform patient care duties utilizing a team approach in collaboration with the RN’s, physicians, and other team members of the comprehensive care team.
  • Paramedics perform skills and procedures under authorized medical direction and nursing supervision.
  • Paramedics can perform reassessments and evaluation on the following patients: ESI 3-5.
  • The Paramedic cannot do: Initial assessment on patients or reassessments of ESI 1-2, discharge teaching, obtain blood from an implantable venous device such as a port, PICC, or central venous catheter, Rapid Sequence Intubation, conscious sedation, Initiation and monitoring of blood transfusion or blood product, Propofol infusion, Insulin infusion, Heparin infusion, tPA infusion.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved paramedic program or college equivalent and
  • Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: AR, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and

Preferred

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
