The Township of St. Clair is currently seeking motivated individuals for Lifeguard / Instructor positions within the Community Services Department. Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Community Programs, this position is responsible for providing safe and enjoyable aquatics for our patrons. As a Lifeguard / Instructor, you will prioritize safety, injury prevention, and effective rescue. All Lifeguard / Instructors under our employ will be sufficiently qualified and abide by current Ontario Health Regulations.
Education and Qualifications:
Qualifications will include the following:
• Lifesaving Society SWIM Instructors certification.
• Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service
• Standard First Aid & CPR C
• Lifesaving Society Instructor certification (preferred).
Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a strong safety attitude, showcase excellent teamworking skills and communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
The rate of pay for this position will range from $16.85 - $23.34 per hour and is dependent on additional lifeguarding-related certifications and relevant experience. The successful candidate(s) will assume a variable work schedule that heavily depends on operational programming needs. Given hours will vary due to programming conditions, applicants must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and / or statutory holidays. Applicants currently in secondary education will not be required to work during school hours.
