Job Title: Leading Fire Fighter
Appointments to be made from Fire Fighter in training up to Leading Fire Fighter. Appointments position/rank placement will be based on requirements for the rank.

Short Description / Purpose of Job
A leading fire fighter protects the Company assets, incl. legal partnership agreements, against the adverse consequences that may result from SHERQ related emergency incidents.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Apply SHE best practices during all activities pertaining to emergency management.
Perform duties according to instruction.
Partake in training to ensure mental and physical fitness in preparation of handling Incidents.
Participate in KPA and PDP discussions.
Ensure performance against KPA’s.
Ensure own delivery on PDP actions.
Work cooperatively with all stakeholders.
Lead a team at an Emergency incident in mitigation strategies
React to emergency situation according to agreed time standard.
Participate in plant emergency preparedness activities.
Identify and propose improvements to emergency management activities.
Identify and propose improvements in effectiveness and service delivery.
Make suggestions and contributions to safety improvements.
Participate in housekeeping activities.
Formal Education
Grade 12 with mathematical literacy/equivalent or higher.
Fire Instructor (NFPA), Fire Officer 1 (Wish),
Medically fit, according to relevant Fire Fighter fitness level assessment,
First Aid Level 3 Advanced (Must), Fire fighter 1 & 2 (NFPA 1001) - (Must),
HPCSA Registered and current BAA (BLS) (Wish),
HPCSA Registered and current ILS (Wish),
Hazmat awareness and operations (NFPA 1072/472) - (Must)
5 Years Industrial Firefighting experience with leadership experience,
5 years relevant experience, Petrochemical Firefighting experience (Wish).
