Position Summary

Concordia University Wisconsin Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Temporary Strength & Conditioning Coach to assist in the daily operations of a comprehensive athletic performance program supporting NCAA Division III student-athletes. This internship provides hands-on coaching experience in a collaborative, fast-paced collegiate environment and is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in sports performance, strength & conditioning, or related fields.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the supervision and implementation of strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned varsity teams
  • Coach and instruct student-athletes in proper lifting techniques, warm-ups, and movement mechanics
  • Help conduct testing, monitoring, and data collection for performance tracking
  • Support daily training floor operations, scheduling, and organization
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and high-energy training environment
  • Assist in facility upkeep, equipment organization, and general weight room management
  • Promote athlete accountability, leadership, and positive team culture
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength & Conditioning

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong interest in collegiate strength & conditioning
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Preferred:

  • Prior coaching or athletic performance internship experience
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division III athletics

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing final semester) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sport Performance, or a related field
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Prior coaching or athletic performance internship experience
  • NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, or USAW certification (or actively pursuing)
  • Prior coaching or athletic performance internship experience
