Alaska Mountain Guides & Climbing School (AMG), founded in 1992, is the oldest and most respected guiding company in Alaska. The firm specializes in multi-day Glacier Bay sea kayaking expeditions and guided wilderness adventures across the state. Its operations include travel to tidewater glaciers, remote coastal inlets, and technical mountaineering terrain.
The company employs over 50 professional guides and instructors. A division called the International Wilderness Leadership School (IWLS) offers technical skills training and outdoor leadership programs, providing university credit for participants. IWLS programs operate globally, extending AMG's reach to locations such as Canada, Nepal, and Aconcagua.
AMG leads small groups through landscapes ranging from Alaska's backcountry to international peaks.
